Perlancaran Persatuan Penduduk Rumah Pangsa Danau Kota
Sunday, 22 February: This morning I was invited to the launch of the Danau Kota Flat Residents Association. DBKL, the Police, Rela, Hokkien Association of Setapak and Jabatan Bomba were represented.
Ahad, 22 Februari: Pagi ini, saya telah dijumput ke upacara perlancaran Persatuan Penduduk Rumah Pangsa Danau Kota. Pihak DBKL, Polis, Rela, Persatuan Hokkien Setapak dan Jabatan Bomba turut hadir.

The Residents Association is led by its President Encik Ahmad Bin Omar. It was a fantastic feeling to see everybody working together and the residents of all the races helping one another to prepare the food and refreshments.
Persatuan ini diketuai oleh Presidennya Encik Ahmad Bin Omar. Saya rasa gembira sekali menyaksikan semua penghuni bekerja sama dan penghuni daripada semua kaum saling membantu menyediakan makanan dan minuman.
I was warmly greeted with the sounds of Kompangs, a Lion dance, a Silat demonstration and traditional Indian music. It was an impressive occasion and I thanked the President, the Committee Members and all the residents for their dedicated effort and hard work.
Saya telah disambut oleh persembahan Kompangs, tarian singer, pertunjukan Silat demonstration serta muzik tradisional India. Inilah suatu anjuran yang mengkagumkan dan saya ingin mengucap ribuan terima kasih kepada Presiden, ahli jawatankuasa dan semua penghuni atas kerja keras dan tekad mereka.
I encouraged the residents to take an active part in the association as it is the only body that has the standing to represent them and fight for their rights. I also called upon the association to look into the activities of the Management Committee with special emphasis on the accounts of the Sinking Fund. The money from this fund is normally utilised for the maintenance and up-keep of the flats e.g. major repairs, painting works, change of lifts, etc.
Saya menggalakkan semua penghuni giat menyertai persatuan ini kerana ianya badan tunggal yang mewakili mereka serta memperjuangkan hak mereka. Saya juga menyeru persatuan ini meneliti kegiatan JawatanKuasa Pengurusan dengan tumpuan khas terhadap dana “Sinking Fund”. Wang yang dikumpul biasanya digunakan untuk penjagaan rumah pangsa seperti pembaikian besar, mengecat, pertukaran lif dan sebagainya.
