“Even Messi will have trouble scoring” said Tan Sri Dr Munir

Tan Sri Dr Munir Majid, the former Chairman of MAS

Yours truly hopes that for the sake of MAS, our national carrier, En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, the current MD of MAS, Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, YB Tan Sri Nor Mohamad Yacop and the Government will seriously consider what the former chairman and MD of MAS have said about the track records of AirAsia and AirAsia X Sdn Bhd before embarking on more decisions. which will be detrimental to MAS.  Were the recent decisions made by the current AirAsia and AirAsia X Bhd “friendly” MAS management to cancel Firefly routes from JB to KK and Kuching in September 2011 and MAS route from KL to Bandung in October 2011 in the best interests of MAS?  Continue reading

TF didn’t tell the whole truth about AirAsia X & RAS

One not telling the truth and the other condoning it!

Updated: 25-10-2011 Please read the article quoted from Business Time report dated 21-7-2006AirAsia not the ‘golden child’. You will see from this report how AirAsia got all the helps (i.e. AirAsia was given 91 trunk routes and etc) from the Badawi’s Administration under the so-called “domestic air rationalisation exercise” and AirAsia grew at the expense of MAS.

Below was what Tan Sri Tony Fernandes had been reported to have said as reported by the Star on 26-4-2007 when the then Minister of Transport, Datuk Chan Kong Choy, announced that FAX/AirAsia X Sdn Bhd had to return the Rural Air Services (RAS) in Sabah and Sarawak to MAS.

“Fernandes said FAX would be launching AirAsia Long Haul operations soon, and that it would be too distracting to operate turbo-propeller aircraft as well.” Continue reading

Who is the CEO of MAS?

Is Datuk Kamarudin Meranun the defacto CEO of MAS?

It would appear that the defacto CEO of MAS is Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, who is also the Deputy CEO of AirAsia Bhd and recently appointed Non-Executive Director of MAS after the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap was inked on 9-8-2011.  Yours truly was surprised that a Non-Executive Director of MAS was speaking as though he is the CEO of MAS.  Even the powerful En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof, the whiz kid and Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar‘s former business partner in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd, is extremely tame after the appointment of En Ahmad Jauhari as the CEO of MAS. AirAsia Bhd & AirAsia X Sdn Bhd kept RM6.895 millions of unclaimed Airport Tax

AirAsia & AirAsia X Sdn Bhd kept the unclaimed Airport Tax totaling RM6.895 millions

AirAsia Bhd and AirAsia X Sdn Bhd, formerly known as Fly Asian Express Sdn Bhd a.k.a FAX of Rural Air Services (RAS) fame, kept the unclaimed Airport Tax for the no-show passengers where both companies have forfeited their fares. By right both companies should immediately refund in full the collected Airport Tax the moment they forfeited fares of the no-show passengers. Continue reading

Bursa KL: Take drastic actions against the directors of MAS & Tune Air

Bursa KL is very quiet about the non disclosure of the MAS - AirAsia share swap

Prior to the inking of the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap and the “Collaborative Frameworks” agreements , both MAS and Tune Air Sdn Bhd did not make any announcement that they were negotiating for the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap. Both the directors of MAS and Tune Air Sdn Bhd’s are duty bound to disclose to Bursa KL about the said negotiations.

Dr Wafi: MAS employees questioning the wisdom of the “matrimony”

The learned Dr Wafi Nazrin Tan Sri Abdul Hamid, who is an expert in Competition Law

Below are the latest exchanged of e-mails between Dr Wafi Nazrin Tan Sri Abdul Hamid (Dr Wafi) and En Matdiah Mohammad, the Secretary of MASE. By right Dr Wafi should not feel so jittery about the outflow of informations from MAS if the secret MAS – AirAsia share swap really meant to save MAS i.e. encouraging collaboration between MAS/AirAsia and not to stifle MAS/Firefly. As a professional, Dr Wafi should call a spade and spade. The outflow of informations from MAS employees are nothing if compare to the informations that are accessible to the directors of MAS. Dr Wafi should be more concerned about the outflow of information to the competitors of MAS unless he knew that the spirit of the secret share swap and the so-called “Collaborative Framework” were meant to stifle MAS and Firefly indirectly.
