When petrol price at the pump jumped to a high of RM2.70 a liter in June 2008, we also experienced a jump in electricity tariff rate a month later. The main reason given for both increases was the high price of crude oil then which was peaking at US120 per barrel.
Now our petrol price at the pumped has dropped to RM1.90 a liter because global crude oil price had tumbled to below US$50 per barrel these days.
Up till now we have since had 5 revisions down of our petrol price at the pump but there had been zero decrease in electricity tariff rate all this while. Why is it?
Should the government be seriously looking into this unfair situation and dictate that Tenaga Nasional Berhad stop unscrupulous profiteering and immediately reduce its electricity tariff rate to the rakyat so as to be fair to them?

Soalan Mingguan WR Anda #38
