SC out of control, out of order

I have been following news reports of the Securities Commission (SC) concerning its investigations of four business reporters in connection with the sale of shares in Kenmark Industrial Co (M) Bhd.

From what I have gathered, it appears the SC is stepping beyond its limit of jurisdiction and trampling on principles of universal human rights. Where in the Securities Commission Act 1993 does it give the SC the right to do body searches and demand its interviewees to surrender their handphones, sim cards, notes, etc.? Would the SC be looking at conducting intrusive body searches next? One never knows what could be hidden in the orifices!

The SC should limit its investigations within the confines of the Act and not be over zealous, lest it becomes the investigated party.
