On May 20, 2009 I have brought up the issue of telco towers, antennas and dishes in Wangsa Maju and other places in Wilayah Persekutuan at the meeting with Yg Bhg Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail, Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur. I have also informed Yg Bhg Datuk Ahamd Fuad of the danger of these electromagnet/radio wave pollution and transmission dishes and tower to our health. I have also formally written to Yg Bhg Datuk Ahmad Fuad stating that there are reports stating that the electromagnet emissions may cause LEUKEMIA, BRAIN CANCER, SCLEROSIS and DEGENERATIVE DISEASES THAT AFFECT NERVE CELLS IN THE BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD.
I am told that many lives have been scarified because of the electromagnet emission too near at the residential areas. One of the known victims was a young lawyer, the late Mr Mah Teck Cheong, who lived in Jalan Malinnja 2, Wangsa Maju. I have also posted the MP Question of Week 54 on this subject and the responses were very positive.
I am now informed that DBKL will take actions to remove all the illegal telco towers, dishes and antennas at the following areas in Wangsa Maju:
Jalan Sampadi,
Jalan 3 / 23 F, Teratai Mewah,
Jalan 4/23B, Danau Kota
It is hoped that DBKL will look into other areas in Wilayah Persekutuan over the installations of illegal telco towers, antennas and dishes.
