On Saturday (14-1-2012) morning at 9:30 am, the officers from Ministry of Education and DBKL enforcement unit came to the empty land, which belongs to the Ministry of Education, in Prima Setapak. They demolished all the permanent structures and removed the cabin that was put on the said empty land. The residents in Prima Setapak were extremely happy with the decision of the authorities to stop the ill thought plans to start a “Bazar Sore 1Malaysia” in housing estate. Please read in HERE for yours truly’s previous posting. Lets hope that this will be a good lesson for those who want to make profits out of empty government land without considering the well-being of the residents. It was a great relief to do them. It also showed that the Government was responsive to the rakyat opinions. A big THANK YOU to the Minister of Education, YB Tan Sri Muhyddin Yasin and Datuk Bandar Kuala Lumpur,Tan Sri Ahmad Fuad Ismail, for the swift actions.
There are more than 20,000 residents living in flats in Prima Setapak. There is no empty field in Prima Setapak where the residents could use for their recreational activities . They are confined to the four walls of their flats. They hope that the Ministry of Education would allow a small portion of the said empty to be used as a playing field for the nearby school, SRJK Mun Yee. The remaining part be made into a “taman” for the young children to play their games like football and etc and recreations for the adults. This will make the residents very happy and it will also shows that the Government is encouraging “Gaya Hidup Sihat” and not the “LEPAK” culture. This will also be seen by the rakyat that the Government is serious about its policy of “Rakyat Di Dahulukan”.
