MCMC Looted, Shady ‘Speedy Gonzales’ Deal Resurfaces – Part 3 (Siew Ka Wei – Elizabeth Ken Combination Rattles Scandal)

The influential and powerful Ms Elizabeth Ken, the CEO of Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd and Media Specialist of Redberry Media Group, which is a part of the public listed Ancom Bhd‘s Group of Companies.

The combination of Redberry Media Group’s (Redberry) managing director Dato Siew Ka Wei (SiEW) and its media specialist Elizabeth Ken has rattled the burgeoning scandal involving RM340 million to provide free computer tablets to teachers nationwide. For background articles on the tablet project please read Part 1 and Part 2.

SIEW is the current executive chairman of public listed Ancom Bhd and Group MD of Nylex Bhd. Redberry is part of Ancom Bhd’s group of companies. Redberry owned the defunct Malay Mail, whose editor in chief is none other than Datuk Wong Sai Wan.

SIEW’s involvement in meetings between PADU Corporation (PADU)– a company incorporated by guarantee under the purview of the Ministry of Education (MOE) — and Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad, which was awarded the contract, raises serious questions.

SIEW, the disgraced ex-Tourism Malaysia chairman, sat without a designation as a Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad representative at a price negotiation meeting on 13 June 2016, HERE.

Ms Elizabeth Ken Signed The Agreement As Witness

Page 1 of the UTUSAN -EPIWEB SDN BHd Supply, Delivery,& Maintenance Agreement dated 3 December 2015.
The signing page of the Utusan – EPIWEB Sdn Bhd agreement. The influential and powerful Ms Elizabeth Ken was the signatory as the witness for EPIWEB Sdn Bhd.

The Redberry’s media specialist (Ms Elizabeth Ken), signed the Supply, Delivery and Maintenance Agreement between Utusan Melayu and politically connected EPIWEB Sdn Bhd as a witness for the latter on 3 December 2015.

Ms Elizabeth Ken’s profile in the website of Likendin describing herself as the media specialist of Redberry Media Group.
SSM Record of Epiweb Sdn Bhd’s List of Directors

EPIWEB Sdn Bhd’s nature of business is “information technology consultation and related services”.  It would appear that En Khairul Firdaus is not a director of Epiweb Sdn Bhd.

It would also appear from the above that as early as in December 2015, Elizabeth Ken, the media specialist of Redberry, had prior knowledge of the impending tablet project, which was only proposed by the then Minister of Communications and Multimedia, YB Datuk Seri Salleh Syed Keruak, at the end of April 2016.

The contract, without open tender, was for the free supply of 430,000 computer tablets with pre-installed Tutor Guru app and Utusan Malaysia e-paper to teachers by June 2018.

While it is acceptable for anyone to sign as a witness, Ms Elizabeth’s part in the agreement could suggest a lead role taken by her boss SIEW in the project.

Ms Elizabeth Ken is also a signatory in the ‘Speedy Gonzales’ Agreement involving Tourism Malaysia.

Ms Elizabeth Ken signed on behalf of Geeko in the scandalous ‘Speedy Gonzales’ Agreement that involved RM99.693 million of public fund.

The Siew – Elizabeth connection first surfaced in the dubious Tourism Malaysia’s RM99.693 million “Speedy Gonzales-Geeko” tech deal that was done at lightning speed.

The Arrest & Detention of Siew & Ms Elizabeth Ken By MACC

2nd left: Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & 4th left: Ms Elizabeth Ken

Both were arrested and remanded for four days by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in January 2019.  Investigations are continuing.

The tablet project meant to narrow the divide between teachers and students failed miserably due to zero governance, as did the Tourism Malaysia – Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd (GEEKO) scheme, HERE.

Elizabeth was the CEO of GEEKO, a 5-month old company, while Siew was Tourism Malaysia chairman when the deal was evaluated and negotiated. The contract was exchanged and sealed in ONE day on 4 April 2018!

Now that SIEW and Ms Elizabeth Ken have re-emerged into the public eye, we need to know the truth about the tablet deal.

The deafening silence by PADU and Ministry of Education over the issue is shameful.

In fact, all the parties including the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), which channeled the funds to PADU, should take responsibility and come clean.

If we really care about stopping corruption, we should be prepared for whatever may come of investigations. We should not protect shady characters but rather ensure that our trust and confidence are not exploited for the wrong reason.

Stay tuned for Part 4.

Little Napoleons’ “Speedy Gonzales” Attempt To Secure Promotion Of Datuk Musa Foiled

Datuk Musa Bin Yusof, the newly appointed DG of Tourism Malaysia and the proposer of the infamous “Promosi Bersama”, please read below.

The Tourism Malaysia (TM) Board of Directors has foiled an attempt by the ‘Little Napoleons’ in TM to use an old letter of clearance or good character by the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to support the promotion of Datuk Musa  Bin Yusuf as Director General (DG) of TM.

The ‘Little Napoleon’/Staunch Supporter of BN

The other ‘Little Napoleons”, Puan Rafidah Binti Idris, Director of Human Resources.

The ‘Little Napoleons’ in Human Resources Department of TM (HR) head by its Director, Puan Rafidah Idris (Rafidah) and her deputy Tuan Ahmad Johanif Bin Mohd Ali (Ahmad Johanif) have been ordered to get a fresh letter of clearance or good character on Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf from MACC.

KSU Of MOTAC & KSN To Take Actions

Just to digress a little, Ahmad Johanif is free to support whichever party he wants but as a civil servant he must be neutral.  As a civil servant, he is governed by the General Orders, HERE. The KSU of MOTAC and KSN should look into the conduct of Ahmad Johanif during the 14 GE and the only few postings in his Facebook reproduced above. There are more negative postings of PH government and YAB Tun Dr  Mahathir!

TM’s Board Meeting of 25 March 2019

On 25 March 2019, the Board of Directors was presented with the papers to recommend or support the promotion of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf to the rank of Jusa B as a prelude to confirm him as the Director General of TM.  The HR headed by Rafidah and Ahmad Johanif included amongst other documents there was a one year old letter of clearance or good character of Datuk Musa Yusuf from MACC to support his promotion.

Both of them knew or ought to have known that the standard procedure for proposing an officer for high ranking promotion in TM must be supported by current letter of clearance or good character from MACC.  Yet these two Little Napoleons saw it fit to knowingly overlook this elementary procedure for special reason best known to two of them.

By the way the ‘Little Napoleons’  Raffish was recently promoted as Director of HR and Ahmad Johanif was recently transferred to be her deputy after the “Speedy Gonzales” elevation of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf as the DG of TM, HERE.

The Scandalous ‘Speedy Gonzales” RM99.693 Million

Front: Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei, the former chairman of TM and Executive Chairman of Ancom Bhd in handcuffs & orange t-shirt   Back:  Ms Elizabeth Ken, the media specialist of Redberry Media Group, CEO & shareholder of GEEKO.

If these two ‘Little Napoleons’ were to carry out their duties diligently, they would have known that TM is currently burdened with the scandalous “Speedy Gonzales” RM99.673 million Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd’s (GEEKO) deal, HERE. They knew in mid January 2019 from the massive publicities generated by the arrest and remand of Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei, who at the material time when the said scandalous deal was struck on 4 April 2018 was the chairman of TM, and Ms Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying by MACC for four days, HERE.

Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & Ms Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying

Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei is the former chairman of TM and current executive chairman of Ancom Bhd, MD of Nylex Bhd and MD of Redberry Media Group (Redberry).  Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei is also the directors of many outfits namely, Meru Utama Sdn Bhd (awarded with 10 years exclusive advertising space contract in KLIA), Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd (awarded with exclusively 10 years advertising space contract in MRT stations) and others. The defunct Malay Mail is part of Redberry.  Ms Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying is the media specialist of Redberry. Ms Elizabeth Ken is the share holder and CEO of GEEKO

Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf, the newly appointed DG of TM for two years

These two ‘Little Napoleons” Rafidah and Ahmad Johanif were apparently suffering from very severe wilful blindness when the proposal papers were prepared to support the promotion of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf for the Board of Directors of TM for approval.  They knowingly omitted to present the glaring facts below with the predominant purpose to deceive or at best mislead the Board of Directors of TM into approving the promotion of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf.

These two ‘Little Napoleons” should be suspended and face disciplinary actions for serious misconducts for knowingly presented the outdated MACC letter of clearance for Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf.

The Glaring Facts

  • When Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd (GEEKO) was incorporated on 6 November 2017 and Koperasi Kakitanggan Kementerian Pelancongan Kebudayaan Malaysia Bhd (also known as KOPEMA) was one of its shareholder holding 10,000 shares, HERE;
  • Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf is the President of KOPEMA;
  • The Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf‘s infamous “Promos Bersama” of 19 January 2018;
“Minit Kelulusan” from Datuk Musa for his “Proposal Bersama” To Be Approved by Datuk Mirza, the then DG.
Page 4 of “Minit Kelulusan” signed by Datuk Musa Bin Yusof, now the DG of TM.
  • On 19 January 2018 Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf, the then Director of International Promotion (Africa/China) submitted a proposal known as “Promosi Bersama Dengan Tourism Malaysia Dan Tencent/Geeko Bagi Promosi Pemasaran Digital (Smart Tourism)” (“Promosi Bersama”) cost TM a whooping RM1,167,900.00, to the then DG of TM, Datuk Seri Mirza Bin Mohamed Taiyab (Datuk Seri Mirza).  Please read HERE  & HERE
  • The said Infamous “Promos Bersama”, of course, approved in lighting speed by the then DG of TM, Datuk Seri Mirza.
  • TM paid Geeko RM1,167,900.00 in lightning speed for the so-called “Promosi Bersama”, which Datuk Musa’s Bin Yusuf told the press that he was not aware of and he had instructed his officers to look into the matter, HERE & HERE;
  • Until now there no news of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf’s investigation into his  Infamous “Promosi Bersama” that cost TM RM1,167,900.00;
  • Prior to the so-called “Promosi Bersama” of Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf, TM was already trying to appoint Deloitte Singapore and/or Deloitte Malaysia to conduct a ‘kajian” on the similar subject of digital marketing.  However, the appointment did not materialise.

The infamous “Promosi Bersama” was not a joint promotion but in reality it was a scheme devised to appoint GEEKO to prepare a so-called “kajian” to pave the way for TM to enter into the scandalous “Speedy Gonzales” RM99.693 million contract with GEEKO, which deal was evaluated, negotiated and agreement was prepared and executed in one day on 4 April 2018.

Luckily the Board of Director spotted the glaring flaw in the supporting documents to promote Datuk Musa Yusuf i.e. the outdated letter of clearance or good character of him from MACC.  However, the Board approved the proposal in principle subject to the submission of a current dated letter of clearance or good character from MACC for Datuk Musa Yusuf and to be approved by KSN.

MACC should go deeper into the scandalous “Speedy Gonzales” GEEKO RM99.693 million deal by digging into the KOPEMA shareholding in GEEKO and said infamous “Promosi Bersama” by Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf.

Ancom Acquisition Of Dormant Company Is Puzzling

The screenshot of Ancom Bhd‘s public announcement of its acquisition of Media Works Sdn Bhd, which is a dormant company, for RM1.

It would have been an otherwise a normal affair for a public listed company to acquire shareholding in a Sdn Bhd.  What had made it so strange was the acquisition of a dormant company with a RM1 paid up share capital.

On 1 March 2019 Ancom Bhd (Ancom) had made the above public announcement in Bursa Malaysia that it had acquired one ordinary share in Media Works Sdn Bhd (Media Works), which was incorporated on 13 December, 2018, and it is dormant. Isn’t it a bit unusual to classify a 13 months old as dormant?

Of course, the announcement didn’t tell us that Media Works has  several special common features with other companies, which are connected with Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei, Datuk Wong Sai Wan and Ms Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying.

The Common Registered Office

The registered office of Media Work is the same as Geeko (Elizabeth Ken is the CEO & shareholder), En Vogue Media Sdn Bhd is one the shareholder of Geeko (Elizabeth Ken is the director & shareholder of En Vogue Media Sdn Bhd), Puncak Berlian Sdn Bhd (Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & Datuk Wong Sai Wan are the directors), Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & Datuk Wong Sai Wan are the directors) and Nylex (Malaysia) Bhd (Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei is the Group MD).

Ancom’s Corporate Structure

The Very Special One Share

The very special one share that Ancom Bhd bought.

It bogles the mind why a public listed company bought a dormant company with a shareholding of RM1 and the said share belongs to none other than Mr Stephen Geh Sin Whye. You sill see from the SSM records below that Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye is indeed a very special personality. He is the company secretary to:

  • Media Works Sdn Bhd (a dormant company)
  • Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd (involved with the ‘Speedy Gonzales” contract worth RM99.693 million with TM and Elizabeth Ken is its CEO and shareholder)
  • En Vogue Media Sdn Bhd (belongs to Elizabeth Ken & her sister)
  • Nylex (Malaysia) Berhad (a public listed company & subsidiary of Ancom Bhd. Dato’ Siew Ka Wei is the group MD)
  • Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd (an outfit related to Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & Datuk Wong Sai Wan)
  • Puncak Berlian Sdn Bhd (an outfit related to Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei & Datuk Wong Sai Wan)

The Ancom listed subsidiaries & Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye

In Puncak Berlian Sdn Bhd (Puncak Berlian)both Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei and Datuk Wong Sai Wan are the directors.  Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye, is the company secretary.

In Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd (Titanium Compass), both Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei and Datuk Wong Sai Wan are also the directors.  Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye is the company secretary.

In Nylex (Malaysia ) Bhd (Nylex), Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye is the company secretary.

Is it by chance that the famous Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye is also the company secretary for the scandals tainted Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd and En Vogue media Sdn Bhd?

Is it also by chance that that Puncak Berlian, Titanium Compass and Nylex shared the common registered office address with Geeko and EN Vogue Meida?

For the benefit of new readers, here’s a short background of the shady “Speedy Gonzales” Geeko deal with Tourism Malaysia worth RM99.693 million.

Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd

Geeko was involved in the dubious ’Speedy Gonzales’ digital platform direct nego contract worth RM99.693 million with Tourism Malaysia (TM), HERE.

SSM record of Geeko’s shareholders

Geeko was incorporated on 6 November 2017.  Its shareholders are as shown above in the SSM record.

Ms Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying (Elizabeth Ken) and her sister are the directors and shareholders of En Vogue Media Sdn Bhd.

Koperasi Kakitangan Kementerian Pelancongan Dan Kebudayaan Malaysia Berhad a.k.a. KOPEMA.

At the material time, Datuk Musa Bin Yusuf (Musa) was the then director of International Promotion for (Africa/China) and is the president of KOPEMA.  The deputy president is Datuk Ammar A Ghapar, senior director of Domestic & Events of Tourism Malaysia (TM), HERE.

Datuk Musa Bini Yusuf (Musa) – The Facilitator

Datuk Musa Yusof, the newly appointed DG of Tourism Malaysia.

On 19 January 2018, Musa  submitted a proposal known as “Promosi Bersama  Tourism Malaysia dan Tencent/Geeko Tech Bagi Pemasaran Digital (Smart Tourism)” (“Promosi Bersama”) to the then DG of TM, Datuk Seri Mirza Mohamed Taiyab (Mirza), for approval.  It was, of course, approved in lightning speed by Mirza.

It would appear that it was a straight forward “Promosi Bersama”.  It was not. To cut the long story short, the said Promosi Bersama was so devised to appoint Geeko to do a study to appoint Geeko to put in place the so-called digital platform for RM99.693 million in TM.  This so-called study cost TM a whooping RM1,167,900.00. For full detail of this Promosi Bersama, please read “Is Tourism Malaysia Everyone’s “ATM”?.

On 4 April 2018 (Iin one day) TM evaluated, negotiated, agreement prepared and the agreement was sealed on the same day.  Elizabeth Ken Tzu Ying (Elizabeth Ken) executed the said agreeement on behalf of Geeko and Mirza for TM. For full details of the said shady “Speedy Gonzales” RM99.693 million, please read HERE.

By the way, Geeko was only rgistered with Ministry of Finance on 6 April 2018, two days after signing the said agreement. It was a case of putting the cart before the horse!

Elizabeth Ken, The Media Specialist of Redberry Media Group

Ms Elizabeth Ken is the CEO of Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd. She is also the media specialist of Redberry Media Group.

At the material time, Elizabeth Ken is the media specialist of Redberry Media Group (Redberry).  She is also the CEO of the scandals tainted Geeko. Redberry is part of Ancom Bhd.  Redberry is a related outfit of Dato Dr’ Siew Ka Wei.  For full detail please read HERE& HERE.

Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei, The Corporate Genius

Left: Tan Sri Mohamed Al Amin. Right: Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei.

Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei is the executive chairman of Ancom Bhd.  He is also the group managing director of Nylex (Malaysia) Bhd.  Redberry Media Group (Redberry) is also part of Ancom. The defunct Malay Mail (print edition) was part of Redberry. Redberry is a one of the outfits related Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei.

Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei and Tan Sri Mohamed Al Amin are business partners. Prior to the 14th General Elections. Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei had been hailed to be a corporate genius in Malaysia. Hence, many of his related outfits like Ancom Chemical Sdn Bhd (supply of Methanol from Petronas), Meru Utama Sdn Bhd (advertising space contract in airports) , Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd (advertising contract in MRT stations) and etc have been awarded with long term exclusive contracts.

Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd had been awarded 10 years exclusive advertising space contract in MRT stations, HERE. The PH Government should investigate into this and other monopoly contracts. Monopoly contract is never good for our country and should be terminated.

When yours truly exposed the shady “Speedy Gonzales” Geeko deal on 30 May 2018, Dato Dr Siew Ka Wei was the Chairman of Tourism Malaysia (TM), HERE.

He was actively defending the said dubious RM99.693 million deal. Initially he was in great pain to fool Malaysians that Geeko was a special purpose vehicle chosen by Tencent Holding for the “Speedy Gonzales” RM99.693 million project.

In a press statement dated 1 June 2018, Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei said:

Geeko Technology was the local partner chosen by Tencent to implement the project here. The principal officers are known to the Tencent Group. The choice of Geeko as a Special Purpose Vehicle for the project was made by Tencent.

One week later on 8 June 2018, Dato’ Siew Ka Wei did an about turn to drastically change the position by stating that:

Geeko Tech is not a special purpose vehicle chosen by Tencent …

Both press statements are reproduced in the article: Dato’ DR Siew Ka Wei: GEEKO – “Special Purpose Vehicle” For Tencent or …??

The “Famous” Editor In Chief Of The Defunct Malay Mail, Datuk Wong Sai Wan

Malay mail editor in chief, Datuk Wong Sai Wan, pressing the button on 30-11-2018 to finally bury Malay Mail for good.

Malay Mail’s editor-in-chief is none other that the extremely “famous” Datuk Wong Sai Wan, who featured very prominently as director in at least two of Dato Dr Siew Ka Wei’s related outfits namely, Puncak Berlian Sdn Bhd and Titanium Compass Sdn Bhd.  It is not the norm for editor in chief of a newspapers to be director of companies. This is how Datuk Wong Sai Wan maintains his professionalism as the editor in chief.

MACC

On 7 June 2018 MACC had commenced its investigations into this dubious “Speedy Gonzales” Geeko deal. It raided TM HQ and seized documents. However, the then DG of TM, Datuk Seri Mirza Mohamed Taiyab denied it was a raid but just to visit TM Hq and “inquire” into the said dubious deal, HERE.

2nd left: Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei     4th left: Elizabeth Ken, the CEO and shareholder of Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd.

On 9 January 2019, Dato Dr Siew Ka Wei, the former chairman of Tourism Malaysia and chairman of Ancom Bhd and Group MD of Nylex Bhd, and Elizabeth Ken, the CEO, shareholder of Geeko and media specialist for Redberry Media Group, were arrested and subsequently detained by MACC for four days on a court order, HERE.  Please see also Star report, HERE.

On 13 January 2019, both of Dato’ Siew Ka Wei and Elizabeth Ken were released from the custody of MACC, HERE.

The Common Feature – Stephen Geh Sim Whye, The Company Secretary

Media Works’s company secretary is Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye. He is also the company for Geeko Tech & En Vogue Media (belongs to Elizabeth Ken & her sister).

Geeko Tech Sdn Bhd’s List of Directors. Mr Stephen Geh Sim Whye is also its company secretary.

Were the above features in Geeko and EN Vogue Media that were common with companies related to the outfits of Dato’ Siew Ka Wei and his Malay Mail’s editor in chief, Datuk Wong Sia Wan, a mere coincidence?

Perhaps Dato’ Dr Siew Ka Wei would like to defend the above like what he did on the scandalous “Speedy Gonzales” Geeko RM99.693 million deal.

Why MyBeauty’s Website Has Been Amended?

MyBeauty’s website has been amended a few days ago.

Updates on 13-03-2019:  When one clicks the link to Malaysian Beauty College, it no longer exist in the web. Why was the website being deleted?  Click:  Malaysian Beauty College

What is Malaysian Beauty College?

After yours truly had published an article about MyBeauty, HERE, there are several glaring amendments have been made to its website a few days ago. The obvious is the deletion of Tourism Malaysia (TM), Human Resources Fund (HRDF) and TRIP as parties to have established MyBeauty.  Under this particular section, there is a new addition of a not known entity known as Malaysian Beauty College, HERE.  If you were to click on “Our Campus” on the Malaysian Beauty College’s website there is no  picture showing its campus, HERE.

Malaysian Beauty College’s website.

According to the above webpage, Malaysian Beauty College is supported by MOTAC, Oriental Mace Group, Tourism Malaysia,  Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

A check from the website of AHLEI, there is no mention about Malaysian Beauty College, HERE.

Hopefully Malaysian Beauty College’s webpage will not be amended after this article is posted.

MOTAC, Tourism Malaysia, JPK and Ministry of Human Resources/HRDF should clarify in what ways they are supporting the Malaysian Beauty College?

The Beauty Courses By “Malaysian Beauty College”

When “View Details” is clicked, it shows the same details as the “Beauty Courses” page.

With the exception of the amount for the fees on the courses, there is not much information on the courses except the name of the courses provided.  If you were to click “Beauty Courses” on Malaysian Beauty College’s website, you will see “View Details”.  When you click the “View Details” section there is no details, HERE.

The Original Version Of The Main Webpage of MyBeauty

The original version of the MyBauty’s webpage is as below. You could see the original versions of thee pages in MyBeauty’s website in HERE.

The original webpage of MyBeauty:

The original shown that MyBeauty was established by MOTAC, Tourism Malaysia, Oriental Mace group, HRDF and TRIPS.

The top picture (the amended webpage of MyBeauty) shows Tourism Malaysia, HRDF, Oriental Mace Group and TRIPS (Tourism Research Insitute For Policies Studies) have been deleted.

Why was the sudden deletion of Tourism Malaysia, HRDF, Oriental Mace Group and TRIP without any explanation? This is extremely strange!  The said deletions raised more questions about MyBeauty.

What Is Trip?

TRIPS as shown in Malaysia Hospitality College’s webpage.

TRIPS seems to be part of Malaysia Hospitality College, HERE.

Left: Professor of Economics Tourism Dr Wong Kong Yew @ Leong Kong Yew   Right: Her Excellency Timbalan KSU of MOTAC, Dato’ Haslina Binti Abdul Hamid

It would appear that TRIPS is part of Malaysia Hospitality College, which is connected to the famous Professor of Economic Tourism Dr Wong Kong Yew @ Leong Kong Yew.  After yours truly published the article on MyBeauty, he has now replaced Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, the former KSU of MOTAC, as Chairman of MyBeauty.

The Glaring Amendments

Professor Economics Tourism Dr Wong Kong Yew is now being promoted to be the Chairman of MyBeauty.

When yours truly published about “MyBeauty”, Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, the then KSU of MOTAC, was its Chairman.  A few days ago, in the amended version of MyBeauty’s webpage Professor Economics Tourism Dr Wong Kong Yew is its newly appointed Chairman without any explanation.

As of this date, Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah had already retired as KSU of MOTAC. However, in the above picture of the webpage of MYBeauty, he is still the KSU of MOTAC. This is most misleading to say the least.

There is also an obvious deletion of Tourism Malaysia as the party responsible for advertisement and promotion. The sudden deletion of Tourism Malaysia has also not been explained in MyBeauty’s website.

The Original Version Of MyBeauty Webpage

The original version shown Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, the then KSU of MOTAC, was the Chairman of MyBeauty.

It must be noted that the original version showed that Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah was the Chairman of MYBeauty, and Tourism Malaysian and MyBeauty were responsible for the advertisement and promotion. The amended version shows only MyBeauty is responsible for its advertisement and promotion.

The Other Glaring Amendment

The glaring changes is “Dybiotech Berhad formerly known as” Oriental Mace Group Bhd.

It is strange that in the original version of MyBeauty’s website,  “Dybiotech Berhad” was glaringly not stated.  It is a normal commercial practice that all companies will state its current name in all its publications but not for Oriental Mace Group Berhad. The glaring omission of Dybiotech Berhad had caused unnecessary confusion to members of the public at large.

The Original Version

This original version was without “Dybiotech Bernard formerly known as”

The obvious amendment for this section of MyBeauty’s webpage is “Dybiotech Berhad formerly known as”, which was previously omitted. Perhaps MyBeauty now realised it had made a grave mistake in not stating the current name of Oriental Mace Group Berhad.

Why MyBeauty’s website was amended as follows:

  • Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah is no longer the Chairman but still is the current KSU of MOTAC.
  • Professor of Economics Tourism Dr Wong Kong Yew is no longer the Co-Chairman but the Chairman of MyBeauty.
  • MyBeauty is no longer established by Tourism Malaysia, HRDF, Oriental Mace and TRIPS. It is now only established by MOTAC and Malaysian Beauty College.
  • Tourism Malaysia is no longer responsible for MyBeauty’s advertisement and promotion.
  • MyBeauty was introudced by MOTAC with the collaboration of Dybiotech Berhad formerly known as  Oriental Mace Group Berhad.
  • Malaysian Beauty College is supported by MOTAC, Tourism Malaysia, HRDF/Ministry of Human Reesources, Jabatan Pembangunan Kemahiran (JPK), American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI).

MOTAC/Tourism and HRDF/Ministry of Human Resources to explain:

How much fund had been used to establish MyBeauty and support Malaysian Beauty College?

Whether establishment of MyBeauty and support given to Malaysian Beauty College were mooted in accordance with the existence rules set by the government?

MACC should also look into this matter.

Next Change – The Chairmanship of Datuk Rashidi Hasbullah, the then KSU of MOTAC, in MyBeauty.
