Share swap unwound, free 1st Class travel still ON!

Posted on May 25, 2012
The Booking Request for free travel on 7-5-2012 for Tan Sri Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun from AirAsia, f of whom have resigned from the MAS Board on 2-5-2012 when the share swap was unwound

The above was the request for the booking for free First Class travel on MAS flight from KL to London Heathrow for Tan Sri Tony Fernandes (TF) and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun (DK) who are both from AirAsia and former Directors of MAS.

Both TF and DK were appointed to the Board of Directors of MAS on 9-8-2011 by virtue of the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap, the brainchild of Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar (Amok)’s most trusted crony En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof aka Danny (Rashdan), in HERE. Rashdan was also involved in a case of abused of power by upgrading his baby and maid to First Class on 1-1-2012 Sydney/KL on MH 122, in HERE.

Despite the Voyage Report of MH122 has been exposed, no actions have been taken against Amok’s most trusted crony, Rashdan, in HERE. It would appear that Rashdan is a protected species in MAS. If other member of staff were to be involved in such a case of abused of power he or she would have to face Disciplinary Inquiry immediately and booted out from MAS by now.

How to instill INTEGRITY within MAS staffs when such abused of power by Amok’s most trusted crony, Rashdan, the Deputy Group CEO of MAS, has been openly condoned.?Yours truly just wonder, under such circumstances, how is MAS going to discipline other members of staff when the the scandalous abused of power by Amok’s most trusted crony’s Rashdan has been seen to be condoned!

Coming back to the issue at hand, yours truly has alerted the top management of MAS that the benefits for the two ex-members of MAS Board namely, TF and DK, should be withdrawn forthwith as their respective appointments were based on the said secret share swap, in HERE.

After the said secret share swap was inked, we have been told by Amok, the MD of Khazanah, and the top management of MAS time and time again that MAS was BLEEDING and needed to be saved. Under the circumstances, the top management had to take immediate steps to withdraw all benefits accorded to TF and DK as their appointments to MAS Board were based on the existence of the said share swap. If both of their appointments to the MAS Board were not based on the said secret share swap then they should have the right to enjoy whatever benefits as former Directors of MAS.

Despite MAS was BLEEDING, MAS had already accorded AirAsia X’s 35,000 passengers under the Re-Accommodation Agreement with the lowest fares beyond anyone’s imagination. For example, one way fare inclusive of all taxes from KL to London was RM1,111 for Economy Class and as low as RM4,911 for Business Class when it would normally cost about RM16, 700 for return fare KL/Lon/KL. The discount granted to AAX was more than 40% in HERE.

Most, if not all, of MAS flights to the destinations like Mumbai, Paris and London are always full with big numbers of AAX passengers. Under such circumstances, MAS has been deprived of selling seats to its customers with higher fares and at the same time MAS had to provide meals and beverages free of charge to the AAX passengers when they had to pay for them when they are on AAX flight. MAS should change its slogan from “Malaysian Hospitality” to “Now Everyone from AAX Can fly MAS With Very Low Cot Fares”.

Based on the above Booking Request, it would appear that as on 7-5-2012 TF and DK were still enjoying the benefits of free travel as former members of the Board of Directors of MAS. The cost of tickets for First Class from KL to London Heathrow for each passenger is RM37, 349-00, in HERE.

Therefore, MAS has been deprived of revenue of RM74, 978-00 for the above travel by TF and DK, not to mention the loss of revenue under the ill thought out Re-Accommodation Agreement for uplifting of the said 35,000 AAX passengers. The lost of revenue should be much higher. Lets wait for the answers in Parliament from soon, in HERE.

After being appointed to the MAS Board, TF appeared to be very eager to help to turn around MAS, which all of us must be very grateful indeed. TF being a multimillionaire, one of the most successful entrepreneur in the world and 66%  owner of QPR, he should have paid the RM37, 439 fares to London to help MAS. So DK too.

Your truly has also been informed of the abused by Khazanah officers when they chartered flights from MAS for their officers for meetings in Langkawi and other places where a small plane was sufficient to accommodate the number of officers traveling but they insisted on a bigger plane with excess vacant seats.  MAS, of course, had to oblige. Yours truly, will leave the posting on this matter for another day and for debate in June Parliamentary Session.

It is hoped that the top management of MAS will take drastic actions against Amok’s most trusted crony Rashdan for abused of power, stop all benefits to the said two ex-Directors from AirAsia and expose all LEAKAGES within MAS like what had happened above and if necessary to lodge reports with MACC for actions. Until these matters have been done satisfactorily, there is no point in talking about INTEGRITY, CO-OPERATIONS FROM STAFF, WHISTLE BLOWERS, another BUSINESS PLAN and etc.

Yours truly has tabled several questions, which include the BinaFikir fees for WAU, Re-Accommodation Agreement, new secret Collaborative Agreement and MOUs both signed by AJ, the Nanny Danny’s scandalous upgrading of his maid and others, in Parliament for answers for this coming Session of Parliament in June, in HERE. Lets see whether AJ and/or the little Napoleons in Khazanah and MAS can still muck around by giving stupid answers to fool Parliament.

No wonder the Pariah has been traveling back and forth to London to watch the QPR games. It must have been on MAS expense. No a bad deal. MAS sponsoring QPR last season for just over RM10 million and sponsoring free travel for the Pariiah.

The benefits must be withdrawn immediately after the share swap has been unwound. the stupid and incompetence AJ charging lower than low cost fare to uplift the AAX passengers was just a big joke. Now free travel when the Pariah has no relationship with MAS.

By the way, Idris Jala banned the Pariah from traveling on MAS at one time because of the Pariah’s inappropriate behaviour. AJ if you want to suck up to the Pariah please think of who pays your monthly salary now. Pleae tell us how much MAS paid BianFikir in 2002 for WAU where MAS was sodomised!

QPR, QPR. Remember the Thamby boasting that the QPR sponsorship is great value to increase MAS’ “visibility”. At that time I thought what a stupid idea – MAS needs to INCREASE visibility in UK? Now, it is proven how stupid – AJ when showing the Q1/12 financial results to staff stated the “UK route incurs the highest losses!!”. What happened to the so-called “great value” sponsorship?? That’s what happens when the people supposed to look after MAS interest like AJ and the Maidupgrader are clueless and think that the Thamby is a demi-God. Now apa macam? Not only that, when Thamby made derogatory remarks about MAS and staff after the share swap was cancelled, what did AJ do? NOTHING! He didn’t have the balls to defend the Company and the staff he is supposed to be leader off! Dayus, tak ada balls! And he expects staff to respect him and trust him? Forget it , man.

Malaysia Airlines (MAS) has taken delivery of its first A380, becoming the eighth operator of the world’s largest and most eco-efficient airliner. The aircraft was handed over to MAS Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya by Airbus Chief Operating Officer Fabrice Brégier in Toulouse today.
Malaysia Airlines has ordered six A380s. Powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines, the aircraft feature a premium three class layout, with accommodation for a total of 494 passengers. Features include fully flat beds in First and Business Class, plus new wider seats in Economy. Seats in all classes are equipped with the latest individual in-flight entertainment systems, USB ports and satellite telephone facilities.
“The A380 showcases our latest premium offering in products and services. This will be our flagship aircraft, offering new levels of comfort, luxury and convenience for long haul travel,” said Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, MAS Group Chief Executive Officer. “With the A380 in our fleet, MAS will reinforce its position as one of the world’s preferred premium carriers bringing great Malaysian Hospitality to our customers.”
“We are extremely proud to welcome Malaysia Airlines as the latest operator of the A380,” said Fabrice Brégier, Chief Operating Officer, Airbus. “The A380 has set new standards of comfort, fuel-efficiency and respect for the environment. The combination of these features and MAS’s world-famous in-flight service represents a winning formula, enabling the carrier to offer its passengers the best the industry has to offer.”
Since first entering service in 2007, the A380 has exceeded all expectations, flying more people further at lower cost, while significantly reducing carbon emissions. The spacious, quiet cabin and smooth ride have also made the A380 a firm favourite with passengers, resulting in higher load factors and increased profitability on all routes where the aircraft is operated.
Typically seating 525 passengers in a three class layout, the A380 is capable of flying 8,300 nautical miles or 15,300 kilometres. This enables non-stop service with a full payload from Kuala Lumpur to any destination in Europe or one-stop service to major destinations in the US.
      Ends.

Thank you for that info and well noted that she is an non-executive chariman but surely she understands what is happening with MAS and the share-swap – never a win-win situation – so regardless of her ‘official’ capacity, she must be in some position to bring about some positive outcome.
Otherwise, she is just dancing to the tune of the ring-master and that to me says she is being controlled, which is unlike Rafidah Aziz.

I agree 100 percent! MAS hires a CEO, pays an army of CONsultants to think for him, and hires a SPECIAL ADVISOR (wheelbarrow) for him as well, and AJ himself has been heard to mention many times that he gets “advice” from the Thamby (must be during their regular makan minum sessions in a particular bistro in a posh neighbourhood) – WHAT THE HELL does MAS needs such a clueless CEO for?? Any CEO does not have to be an airline expert, as has been successfully proven by Idris Jala, BUT he at least has to have SOME brains and SOME people skills to tap the internal expertise around him. AND at least make eye contact when speaking to people. AJ has said before, if staff wants him to leave, he will leave. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR, AJ? GO LAH. AND please bring Rozman, Azahari, and not forgetting the Maidupgrader too. Mas staff have had enough of all of you!

It is full of misti-ada-sapu cheats from the very top management to the lowest cabin crew and many others in between. Thievery is an unspoken staff benefit granted to all employees. Lesser citizen and working classes of MAS MUST serve at least one year before they are eligible to a “free” Annual Ticket. Even then, only about 10% of the employees would venture overseas as all other cost of the travel must come out of their own shrunken pockets. Yet here, we liberally reward PENYAMUN and PENYANGGAK for RAPING MAS?

The fact that that idiot AJ can sign the Re-Accommodation with stupid lowest of the lowest fare showed that AJ is not fit to be the CEO of MAS. He has no MAS interest at heart. He has only take care of the Pariah’s interest. No CEO of the right mind would agree to uplift AAX passengers the way MAS is doing. Lowest fares and at the same time allowed AAX to block seats for its passengers. It seemed that AAX is free to look after their interest but MAS had to kow tow all the way.

That’s the reason why Shane Nollan is put as Acting Commercial Director. Bloody hell, don’t tell me no one in MAS is better than Shane No-LAN. He is just a good for nothing Irish man that’s why he had to be in Malaysia to be the “budak suruhan” of the Pariah.

Despite RM171mil loss for Q1 2012, MAS still have money to acquire new crew portal system which rumors says it cost the company RM40mil.

The new crew portal is not user friendly and way too slower as compared to the old ICMS system which has been recently been stop using.

It is clearly stated in the booking that both the gentlemen were former Mas board members who were using the last of their entitlement to free travel on MAS services. Let us not try to build up a case where none exists. Otherwise we will lose our credibility.

There are other more important things like how come people brought in from Air Asia are still occupying key management positions in MAS despite the unravelling of the share swap. The silence on this matter is rather deafening.

On a separate note, I cannot help but wonder how the Air Asia group is going to report a profit this year. Their 2 Airbus 340s (4 engine) aircraft for long haul flights have been grounded for more than 2 months now and their Airbus A330s are also not flying much. Many of their A320s are due for heavy maintenance. Despite its cheery facade, I suspect Air Asia is bleeding and bright red at that.

When you are down, deep down in fact, such as in the case of MAS, there is only one way left to go and that is UP. I fear the same cannot be said of Air Asia.

      wauredblue,

It is true indeed the booking did state ” balance of priviledge travel entitlement”. But it did not really mean the last. It could be the balance for the rest of 2012 or even longer (somebody inside please verify). The point here is how the terms of priviledges were accorded to the BOD. This is only to reflect AJ’s style of management. And he & the gang are still around.

The rest of your points get my full support. Regards.

If my memory serves me well, each boardmember of MAS is entitled to 4 free FRCL tix a year.

… seriously, are we gonna believe we at MAS would ever see our company that would soar high again. From a giant in the aviation industry, flying to over 100 destinations, we are now the laughing stock of the industry…. no thanks to a board of imbiciles that calls themselves directors and managers that are rejects in all other fields of management. even Garuda and Lion Air are in a better position than our National Carrier.
… everytime we at MAS were to speak our minds, we are blacklisted and hounded out of our beloved company by these bastards. It is an open secret that the directors were busy negotiating their directors fees before anything else when they were “anointed” into their posh positions – while the staff was offered pittance. Other GLCs get 10% pay increases and MAS staff gets 5% and told to be grateful.
… It is a known fact that Tony Fernandes was once a PERSONA NON GRATA on all MH flights during Idris Jala tenure for reasons only known to the management and from that day onwards, had every reason to exact revenge for being given this treatment. By “taking over” the management ~ he did !
… the sad part about this whole fiasco – is that we also have many capable people in the company that sees everything that happens but are powerless to do anything to STOP the rot… why, because they do not have the connection and clout to do anything….

    What nonsense about balance entitlement?
Talking about entitlement in that short time frame,
did AA offer MAS staff rebate travel?
    Nothing !!
And here you are offering them FOC travel.
Wonder how many balance entitlement left?
    10 or 20 ?
Just frustrating that these freeloaaders can get away
from paying any fare when revenue passangers are
    bumped off the flight.
Trust me FC London flights are always full.
Blame loss on unproductive staff when day light robbery
is happening right in front of you AJ.!!

So far we were looking only at Mas. It does

seem strange that the Mats [matnor/nanny/johari]

are simply behaving simple-simon -like. When they had the

oppurtunity to ketuk AAsia, the 3 stooges did not

act properly expected of a high powered ceo. They looked like clerical

    mats..

    .

Maybe we were looking at the wrong end of the

Could it be that all the ruse to help Mas is actually

Need a whistle blower from CIMB or some little bird from

Why would a suppossedly-cash rich AA needs financial help

from a bleeding company to help them meet their

obligations to their passengers to the tune of 100 million/thereabout

ringgit if AA were to ask SIA to do it.

    .

    .
We have 3 mats, 2 of whom are proper accountants [m/nor, nanny]

cannot see the oppurtunity loss in the R-A agreements and

maintenance of AA’s planes. All behave like gomen clerks running

    ..

The engineering mind of mat j is called to question –

when AA is allowed to get free rm 300k/plane of service if service is not

    completed within a day.

And this is not a simple car service! And

how many years of experience did mat j had?
    .

The public is very critical of the so called transformation thingies

if ceo’s behave like clerks when faced with mundane issues.

too early to get excited lah. Remember there are still 2 more AirAsia fellas around – they may have a MAS staff number, but they can NEVER be accepted by MAS staff – Azahari and Rozman. Satu jaga Engineering, satu jaga Finance. The other fella who must go is the one from CIMB – Aziz Bakar, who at 35 years of sage is rumoured to be paid 36k p.m. (maybe peanuts to some people, but in MAS,which is BLEEDING, and at the same time, we already have internal people who can , and are, doing his job, this salary is nothing short of daylight robbery!) So until and unless all those parachuted in from AA sand CIMB goes, we should continue to fight their presence in MAS ! The share swap may be cancelled, but the COLLABORATION is still ON. Maseu, apa sudah jadi? Buat banner besar besar – NO to collaboration AND share swap. Now collaboration still on, MOU sudah sign, why Maseu sunyi sepi? Sudah kena suap ke?

Macam mana nak selesai masalah operasi yang lebih besar dan mencabar? Eloklah berundur secara terhormat walaupun dah agak terlewat sikit.

Do you think TF will handover job application form (AA/AAX/Tune) to Danny? TF will do so if any value left in Danny. However, idiots in Khazanah will always ready to create nothing less than a CEO post for Danny. Let see if famous name Danny the Nanny appears in other GLC.

GUAM or every staff world wide should organize/sponsor a largest ever farewell party or kenduri doa selamat. Danny must attend without fail.

My company applied for business with MAS and offered to clear some agents dues amounting to equivalent RM 6 million and pay to MAS directly as MAS needs cash and also we propose a reduction in commission payable from 5% to 2.5%.The outstanding dues has nothing to do with us but with a company who was MAS agent before but Shane Nolan can tell us he rather let the litigation process takes its due course.
Never in MAS history any company can give this kind of offer to MAS.

Now that Shane is gone, come and offer again one more time, can or not? I am sure Shane’s replacement will have more common sense and LOYALTY to MAS.
