During the Committee Stage of the Budget Debate this evening (2-11-2011), yours truly had to bring up the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap again because the Minister of Finance II did not answer the points raised during the Budget Policy Debate. Yours truly also questioned the Public Account Committee (PAC) whether it will investigate the said share swap. YB Dato’ Hj Azmi Khalid (MP for Padang Besar) told Parliament that PAC has decided to investigate into the secret MAS-AirAsia share swap. He has also told Parliament that when PAC visited KLIA and LCCT yesterday, he saw that many
Firefly AirAsia aircraft were grounded. This must be part of the so-called “Collaborative Frameworks” as announced on 9-8-2011 by Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, the MD of Khazanah and a former business partner of En Mohamed Rashdan Yusof (the newly crowned Deputy CEO of MAS) in BinaFikir Sdn Bhd.
BinaFikir Sdn Bhd was appointed by Tan Sri Md Nor Md Yusof, the newly crowned chairman of MAS after the said secret share swap, in order to save MAS from the brink under the project known as WAU. Read HERE. It seemed that WAU was a failure. Hence the said secret share swap.
YB Datuk Hj Mohamad bin Aziz (MP for Sri Gading), YB Bung Moktar (MP for Kinabatangan) and other BN MPs have condemned the said secret share swap and described those involved in the said share swap as “PEROMPAK”. Yours truly has described those involved as “PENGKHIANAT dan PEROMPAK NEGARA”.
Yours truly has reminded the Deputy Minister of Finance, YB Datuk Awang Adek, that on 13-10-2011 the YAB PM/Minister of Finance has told Parliament that the SC and Bursa KL will investigate into the allegations of insider trading and the directors in MAS and AirAsia Bhd for failing to make the relevant announcement to Bursa KL prior to the suspension of the said secret share swap. Read HERE & HERE.
Yours truly has also asked the Deputy Minister of Finance why up to this date there was no actions by SC and Bursa KL over the said allegations and whether SC will invite MACC to join SC and Bursa in the investigations. The said Debate ended at 10:30 pm on 2-11-2011. Deputy Minister of Finance will reply to all the points raised by MPs this afternoon (2-11-2011) after Questions time at 11:30 am.
