Your MP's Question of the Week #51

The Abdullah Badawi premiership has finally and reluctantly made its early exit and now we are ushering in the Prime Ministership of Najib Razak and no doubt his new administration when he reshuffles the cabinet in due time.

Najib Razak’s inaugural speech as the nation’s 6th Prime Minister seems to offer a whole lot of hope too, much like what Badawi did with his when he came into office with a historic landslide victory during the 11th general election in 2004. However, Najib Razak is never known to sleep on the job but will he do what he claims he wants to do for the rakyat and country unlike the “sleeping beauty’s” 5 over years of “hot air” that we have been blown with?

Should the rakyat believe the words of the new Prime Minister Najib Razak when he said “I pledge that I will work tirelessly to serve all of you…. I will be steadfast in my commitment to meet the needs, aspirations and concerns of all Malaysians…. of renewing Malaysia…. of building a One Malaysia. People First. Performance Now.” and give their full support to help him achieve his task of serious nation-building which he had promised with all probable sincerity?

Soalan Mingguan WR Anda # 51

The rakyat will no doubt fully support the PM in nation building, as they did with the past PMs. Even when the previous PM slept, we did not. We worked continuously hard- and worked extra hours too, to ensure our incomes and our companies’ incomes contributed to the Malaysia economy. Eventhough our economy and human rights was spent away with such recklessness.

One thing we do not tolerate is abuse of our trust, our basic rights and our incomes. I do not see that abuse disappearing with Najib coming in. Merely words will not convince many. You must remember, Najib does not come in with a clean slate and there are still many uncleared issues hanging in the air. These issues create an air of doubt in the trustworthiness and morality of his character- hence, how can you say there’s probable sincerity in his speech?

We have all heard those countless pledges before- all PMs say that when they check-in. Before the plundering starts.

    For now, I reject Najib.

Trust have to be built on deeds, track records and observation.

Nice starting speech, I am waiting for the next zero sum game to manifest themselves.

To do what Najib promises then there have to be fundamental change to the mentality and action of all BN party components and while I expect some changes, I doubt there will be…..

Bodohwi just slept all the way until the last two months when he woke up to his horror that the country has had enough of him. He suddenly realised that he tried to do all kinds of stupid reforms.

Thank God he is gone for good. He can now join Patrick Badawi in Perth. But we had to put up with his son in law and cronies like Kalimullah and Tony Fernandes. I hope that Najib will wipe out his cronies.

God bless Malaysia! We all should cry Merdeka from that idiot.

I have my doubt on Najib but I am prepared to give him a chance to do what he has pledged to do.

I agree that Pak Lah has failed as a PM from day one because he allowed his son in law, fourth floor boys and the like of Kalimullah to run amok under his administration. This was the main reason that this country was in such shit and nothing seemed to move except Scomi and Air Asia.

I hope that Najib will not stop at releasing the ISA detainees, he should take immediate step to abolish ISA and the abuses by Pak Lah’s cronies in the GLC.

Najib should remove all the heads of the GLC and institute immediate investigation into their activities. Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar of Khazanah must be removed immediately if we want to see clean GLCs.

Tan Sri Anuar Zaini of Bernama should also be removed immediately because he is also one of the cronies of Pak Lah, the Sleeping Beauty of Malaysia.

A thorough investigations to be commenced against the activities of ECM Libra and Air Asia for owing airport tax for more than 6 years with no actions from MAB.

MACC should investigate into those have been found guilty of money politics and charge them.

I was so fed up with Pak Lah’s government where it was directionless and everything center around his son in law. Now at least the country is free from the 4th floor boys and cronies.

Let’s see what Najib will be doing within the 100 days. Releasing the 13 ISA detainees was no big deal. Stopping the excesses of Pak Lah’s son in law and cronies are more important. Of course, to stop the future excesses of UMNO /BN cronies is also important.

Hidup Malaysia after that Sleepy Head. Thank God, we don’t have to put up with the 4th floor boys anymore.

I don’t think that there will be serious changes under Najib.

If Najib is really serious in wanting to change things for Malaysia then he must immediately abolish ISA as ISA is no longer applicable in present Malaysia. If Najib dare not abolish ISA then he is not serious in wanting to change.

Secondly, Najib must show that his administration will be fair to all races and there will be no UMNOputra and the non-UMNOputra.

Quite frankly, I do not think that Najib can perform these two changes. So it will be the same as it was and Malaysia will be laughed at by foreigners all the time.
