Bee sting and a missed opportunity

Posted on August 5, 2008

TOPIC: “EXPANDING THE ROLE OF PARLIAMENT IN GLOBAL SOCIETY, DEVELOPMENT AND SECURITY.”

I was looking forward to attend this meeting at the Plenary Hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre this morning. Many MPs from the Commonwealth countries were coming to attend this function in Malaysia which was declared opened by the Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Najib Tun Razak.

Unfortunately, I could not make it because the area of my left eye was stung by a bee last night when I was having dinner. I thought that it would be alright and I didn’t bother much about it. At about midnight I could see that the swelling got progressively bigger and I was advised by a friend that I should get medical attention before it got worse. So I decided to go and my friend drove me to the University Hospital. I was professionally treated and given a 2-day medical certificate.

I was very disappointed indeed that I missed this opportunity.

Dear YB, maybe you should close the service centre for tonight and take a good rest.

I hope the fuse box issue is settled.

This should be in the KL Draft Master Plan thread but I’m putting it here to draw attention.

This explains the issue faily well.

YB.. could you propose in the Parliament that all YB must declare their assets and that it should be open for public scrutiny? All MPs, state and federal level…

    I would really appreciate it…

    Dear Friends

Thank you so much for your concerns. I do appreciate it very much. I will not be at the Service Centre tonight as the eye is still swollen and I am still having vision problem. I am still on medication and if i take it I will feel very sleepy. I really am sorry for the inconvenience caused and will see you all next week.

I am in full support of En Maizatul Ahamd’s idea. This idea has been brought up many times but fallen on deaf ears. I will definitely do it at the appropriate time.

Once again thank you so much to anonymous, Malaysia 64, hafiz, Lee Wee Tak (also for his translation into BM) and others.

    Regards

YB, I thought MC is for “makan gaji” people only. But nevermind, may God bless you with speedy recovery.

Thank you YB. Please fight for its implementation. I think that will help us, rakyat biasa, to have greater respect and trust on all our elected MPs in the future.

    Thank you very much.

ps could you ask Tan Kok Wai to start a blog?
