A promise honoured & An invitation to jamuan makan malam

(Terjemahan ada berikut di bawah – 中文翻译,请看下面。)

Two items in this post today …

The first item is about this sms which reached me on 25 February:
” Bakal. Yb mr wee. kiranya menangh di w. maju saya ingin menyumbang beras 30 pack kpd mr wee utk diberi kpd org miskin dikawasan kita. selamat berjuang. – En Sabarudin “

Then on 14 March this sms arrived:
” Yb Wee, dimana opis yb? Kerana saya nak hantar beras 30 pack utk dibahagi kpd org miskin kawasan w.maju seperti saya janji kiranya yb wee menang w.maju. – Dari sabarudin b.hamzah
w.maju “

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Encik Sabarudin Bin Hamzah from the bottom of my heart for his generosity and kindness. I would also like to add that it’s quite rare in these days for people to honour their words even though some may be super-rich but Encik Sabarudin, I guess, is different. I salute you, sir.

I would like to welcome suggestions from Wangsa Maju-ians as to how the 30 packs of rice can be distributed to the poor. Please help me and I sincerely look forward to your suggestions. Thank you.

– – – – – – – o O o – – – – – – –

The second item is regarding an occasion for me to honour and thank my fellow election workers and voters of Wangsa Maju for your efforts in helping me win the Wangsa Maju parliamentary seat.

Like I said before, I could never have achieved the success we have today without your help and support.

I look forward to interacting with all of you and touch base further. Please come and bring your family and friends, too. Thank you. See you on 19 March, okay.

Items on the menu will include satay, lamb curry, fried rice, others and drinks.

Janji yang telah ditepati dan jemputan untuk jamuan makan malam

Dua perkara pada hari ini …

Perkara pertama adalah mengenai sms yang telah saya terima pada 25 Februari :
” Bakal. Yb mr wee. kiranya menangh di w. maju saya ingin menyumbang beras 30 pack kpd mr wee utk diberi kpd org miskin dikawasan kita. selamat berjuang. – En Sabarudin “

Kemudian, pada 14 Mac, sms ini menyusuli :
” Yb Wee, dimana opis yb? Kerana saya nak hantar beras 30 pack utk dibahagi kpd org miskin kawasan w.maju seperti saya janji kiranya yb wee menang w.maju. – Dari sabarudin b.hamzah
w.maju “

Dear Wee,Can I suggest a POT BLESS party for the makan malam. It is fun and more importantly, it helps to cultivate the GOTONG ROYONG spirit we have lost long time ago.Anyway, about the rice distribution, I wish to suggest that we list down the centers such as ophanage….. and let everyone know if there are more than 30 packs of rice from various parties. Thank you.

Mr. Wee,Don’t make it too lavish. Simple food is best so that there will be enough for all. People will appreciate it just as much. It will backfire on you if there arent enough.

Saudara Wee,Majlis makan-makan ni memang wajar diadakan.

Dear YB,Congratulations for your victory at P116 Wangsa Maju. The jamuan makan malam will be an occasion for the community to gather and as a good start for all of us to stand together. I am the resident of Taman Melati for the past 23 years and hope that this area will not be abandoned and left out from your development and improvement plan as per your manifestos. Though there are plenty of development since, there’s a lot of rooms to improve still, especially the first item in your agenda. We have voted you in seconds, and you have 4 years to prove your words. All that we want is justice and security. Fulfilled those and bet you’ll be back again next GE. -Sue232, Taman Melati-

Aiyahhhhhh, YB Wee, what the heck. Why waste your time and money for celebrations. The situation at present is still hot and finicky especially when the neo-Nazi UMNOputra sore losers may gatecrash and create an incident while you folks are making merry in a mass gathering.Didn’t someone tell you to AVOID ANY MASS RALLY LIKE THE PLAGUE during these uncertain times. It is extremely foolhardy. Don’t let history repeats itself, this time around flaring up at Wangsa Maju first and foremost.A couple of red banners in a Chinese neighbourhood, a green banner in a Malay neighbourhood and an orange banner in an Indian neighbourhood and a rainbow colour banner in a mixed neighbourhood strung across some vital landmarks will help create the impact of your gratitude. Reading THANK YOU To ALL WANGSA MAJU RESIDENTS FOR VOTING ME IN. I LOVE YOU. WEE CHOO KEONG.I have a suggestion for you regarding the crime situation at your new constituency. How about reviving the Rukun Tetangga vigilante at every neighbourhood albeit on a voluntary basis (definitely not by statutory compulsion)and these volunteers put under close supervision by the local police.About your 30 bags of rice. Why not deposit them at my chicken barn? My chicken grow fat and create the eggs. I donate 30,000 eggs to you next GE13. What do you say? One thing leads to another, mah.

Hi Wee, I wish to attend your Jamuan Makan Malam but too bad that we are back to Tokyo, cari makan lah.Really great that you already started to work immediately after the election and hope to see more update of your work in this blog.Frankly speaking, our trip back to Malaysia to vote is not wasted as the result show. Now, we are hoping your area, Wangsa Maju will be as clean as in Tokyo. By doing this, not only get DBKL to work but the residents of Wangsa Maju need to work together to make it a success.Just like in Tokyo, there are millions of people and you can’t really find a tong sampah near street, yet the city is still so clean. I believe it is long way to go but you can make it.WL.

More on Rumah Shalom As of today, Rev Arulandu told me that they housed 25 children at 3 locations. One less location from what they stated on their website. They had to close one of their locations recently due to some corporate company which had pulled out. However after some short discussion, this is what they need desperately (apart from financial aid): -1) Beds, mattresses, bed sheets, pillow cases or any of sort that would give a comfortable sleeping environment for the children.2) Clothes, uniforms, towels, socks, shoes, slippers etc. (of various sizes).3) Electrical or home appliances such as iron, ironing board, radio/CD player, wall fan, basic cups, plates, spoon, fork, TV, kitchen utensils etc.4) Stationaries, books, notepads etc for school use.5) Used but working or new computers (we are from Lowyat.NET so this should be easy if it doesn’t fall into the Garage Sales).6) Basic but lots of food stuffs such as rice, canned food, cooking oil, sugar, salt etc.

Hi YB Wee,Congratulation YB on the victory for Barisan Rakyat. Although I’m not residing in Wangsa Maju, but my cousins are studying in TARC and stay in Wangsa Maju. I’m bit concern for their safety due to high occurence of snatch thefts and other petty crimes in your constituency. I recommend the set up of Rukun Tetangga as part of the safety precautions against the rising crimes.About the generous offerings from the public, I think you should form a welfare bureau, to look after the welfare of the needy people by distributing the right items to the right families who deserve it. I believe that appointing someone like Michael Chong to serve in the bureau will be important to deal with the social problems in Wangsa Maju. It is also a way to share your burden with other co-workers to ensure a more effective service to the people.

YB Wee, forget about Datuk Michael Chong. We know too well about his background. Trust me, just forget about him. His background speaks volume! I will defintely go to the Jamuan Makan Malam at Taman Bunga Raya tomorrow nite. It is a great idea for a get together for all the voters not only to eat but more importantly to interact. So far, you have done a great job.

Aisey man….I miss out this makan-makan bersama komuniti lah as I will be out of town tomorrow!! :(As for the rice distribution, we can re-pack them into smaller packages and distribute to those villagers in remote kampung. Don’t be surprised that these kampungs still exist in our Wangsa Maju area. Best person to ask, Ketua Kampung!! Orphanages are ok too…but be aware that some of the Orphan homes have so much, but some have none. Tough pick…

Sdr Wee Khairy was dying to be a cabinet minister. He was even quoted to have said that he would want to be the PM before he is 40 years old. I wuld like to see him as a deputy PM so that the stupid PM will be finished faster so that the country can be saved. Why is MPs not worn in yet. Iwant to Sdr Wee in action. Please do not forget to expose the corruption in the judiciary, Khairy and the Tony Fernandez in the Air Asia. I am sure that you will not let W.maju down. Whacked the shit out of them especially Khairy and Tony Ferdandez, these two must be rid off at all costs.See you tonight at the Jamuan Makan at Taman Bunga Raya.

March 19, 2008 00:25 AM I Won’t Accept Minister’s Post As Long As Abdullah Is PM, Says KhairyKUALA LUMPUR, March 18 (Bernama) — Umno Youth vice-head Khairy Jamaluddin said he would not accept any offer to join the Cabinet as long as Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi is the Prime Minister.Khairy, who is also the Member of Parliament for Rembau, said he had informed his father-in-law of the matter before the general election on March 8, and Abdullah had acepted his stand.”That’s not fair to PM (Prime Minister). I stayed out of his way as much as possible. I’m just a normal MP and want to focus on my job. There are people who are there to help and assist him,” he told reporters after attending the meeting of the Umno Youth Exco and State Umno Youth heads which was chaired by the movement’s head, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein at the Umno headquarters, at Menara Dato Onn, here today.Khairy said this when commenting on the allegation that he had influenced the Prime Minister’s decision in making government policies, and responding to reporters’ question why he was not included in the new Cabinet line-up announced by Abdullah in Putrajaya today. He said his focus now was to discharge his duty as a member of parliament in the Dewan Rakyat to face the opposition. On the outcome of the March 8 general election which saw five states falling to the opposition, Khairy said it was a lesson to the BN to be more sensitive to the voice of the people.”I have learnt that we have to listen to the people more, and the party needs to listen to the people more. We cannot isolate ourselves, we must reform the party and take note,” he said.On the claim that he was the cause for the BN defeat, Khairy said the defeat was a joint responsibility and the actual reason for the defeat would be studied.”I’m not bothered if people make all kinds of accusations. What is important is to build up the party. If it’s found that my services are not required in the party, then we will have a party election soon, let the election decide on the future of Umno leaders.”But I will not shirk from my responsibility as the Umno Youth vice-head. I have the responsibility of regaining the strength of Umno Youth and BN Youth,” he said, conceding that everyone have their personal shortcomings.Khairy said: “All of us from the top leadership down to the grassroots including myself must do some soul-searching. Certainly from the indications given by the people, there are many shortcomings from the personal level right up to the party.”On the decision of the Umno Youth Exco meeting today which did not take any action on the Member of Parliament for Jerlun who is also Umno Youth Exco Member, Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, who had called on Abdullah to step down as the Prime Minister through a letter written last week, Khairy said it was the personal view of Mukhriz. He said further discussion on the matter was “counter productive”, and what was important was that the majority of the party members supported the leadership of Abdullah and his deputy, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, to continue to lead the country.– BERNAMA

Annoynymous March 19, 2008 00:25 AM,Khairy is as good as a thug and sore loser (UMNO Samseng Division). The manner the polling was carried out at Rembau reinforces that- checkout CheguBard’s blogsite. For more of his samseng attitude checkout YouTube videos on the Ijok by-elections ( I am totally disgusted) . Even UMNO thinks putting him on the Cabinet is high risk- that press statement is good coverup for not getting chosen as a minister.
