AirAsia’s ads for tickets sale well after 31 March 2013 (see parts marked with arrow). This advertisement appeared in the Star on 28-11-2012. Is this advertisement misleading?

17-12-2012 @6:30 pm: Yours truly has been informed by YB Datuk Ismail Sabri, Minister of Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, that his Ministry has taken the necessary actions to stop AirAsia  from selling of tickets beyond 31 March 2013 as AirAsia’s AOC is only valid until 31 March 2013.

It has been widely reported in the newspapers recently that the Air Operation Certificate (AOC) of AirAsia has been granted by Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) for a six month period until March 31, 2013 due to failure to meet the regulatory requirement as reported in HERE. Normally, OAC is granted to an airline for a two years period. Up to this date, the said press report by the Sun Daily and New Strait Times have not been refuted by the management of AirAsia or denied by Minister of Transport or DCA. (more…)

It all started as Flying Asian Express Sdn Bhd aka FAX. After receiving RAS & RM250 mil subsidy from Badawi's Administration dumped RAS back to MAS with 6 un-airworthy aircraft & 1 being cannibalised for spare parts.It costs MAS RM35 mil before resuming RAS again. Then changed its name to AirAsia X Sdn Bhd ...

Teks ucapan verbatim saya di Parlimen semasa membahas Ruang Undang-Udang bernama “Institut Penyelidikan Keselamatkan Jalan Raya Malaysia 2012″ pada jam 7:30 2-4-2012. Ucapan tersebut mengandungi Rural Air Service (RAS) di Sabah dan Sarawak yang terlibat Fly Asian Express Sdn Bhd sekarang telah ditukar kepada AirAsia X Sdn Bhd. "MAS staffs are low productivity" said AJ. This MAS known logo has been around for many years and around the world. Has been changed to pale blue to "SAVE" MAS.

Updates @ 4:30 pm on 28-3-2012: Tonight the Ministry of Finance (MOF) will be replying to the issues raised on the MAS-AirAsia share swap and CCF in yours truly’s speech “Pengkhianat dan Pengkhianat Negara” in HERE & HERE. Parliamentary session will be on until MOF finishes its reply. It could be as late as 11:30 pm! The MOF’s replies on the MAS-AirAsia share swap and CCF will be posted as soon as possible.

In the interim please read an interesting piece in THE MOLE, HERE & HERE.

At 1:30 pm on 26-3-2012 MAS management came to Parliament to brief MPs. MAS Management team was represented by En Ahmad Jauhari Yahya (AJ), Tan Sri Md Nor Yusof (Md Nor) and Tun Abdullah Hj Ahmad Badawi, as MAS Advisor. Another person from MAS, whom yours truly is not familiar with.  It could be En Rozman Omar. Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar (Amok) represented Khazanah  Nasional Bhd (khazanah). Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar, Tan Sri Md Nor Md Yusof, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, En Mohammed Rashdan Yusof

“Tan Sri Tony Fernandes has denied that AirAsia benefited from the RM249 mil in Government subsidies paid to Fly Asian Xpress (FAX) for rural air service operations four years ago. Fernandes said that although the shareholders of FAX were similar to AirAsia, they ended up losing almost RM5 mil of shareholder capital owing to the wind-up costs of FAX.” Read HERE for full report.
