USP the “Cash Cow”! Left with RM400 million!

I am shocked to have read in Rockybru and the NST’s report that the latest balance in the USP Fund is only RM400 million! The Deputy Minister of Information, Multimedia and Culture YB Datuk Salang Gandum on 25-10-2010 said here that no USP Fund had been spent. one of them must be lying. The Deputy Minister or the NST. We will soon find out when the Ministry of Information, Multimedia and Culture reply this coming week to the questions posed by me during the Budget debate last week. If it is true that only RM400 million is left in the USP Fund then it will be a very serious matter then MACC must come move in to investigate.  In year 2008 the balance in the USP Fund was RM4.67 billion!

The angry residents of Idaman Sutera Condo


Despite the residents of Idaman Sustera Condominium (Wangsa Maju) pleaded to the developer, Medan Idaman Sdn Bhd, during their first AGM, today (31-10-2010) the developer ignored their plea and just sent its representative from a property management agent, Burgess Rawson Management Sdn Bhd, to solely conduct the meeting without addressing the outstanding issues, which have caused heartache to the residents.

Please do not respond to such message or any other similar messages. This was sent by fraudsters. Once you click the url then they will do an online withdrawal of your money via Maybank2U online. Many people have been victims of such scheme!  MCMC in the Ministry of Information, Multimedia and Culture should concentrate on such scam in the internet.

Update 28-10-2010 @ 23:50: This is what the Auditor General Reports 2009 had stated about the Homestay Programe:

Objektif program Homestay tidak akan DICAPAI sepenuhnya jika kelemahan dalam perancangan, pelaksanaan dan pemantauan program ini tidak diatasi dengan segera, Oleh itu adalah disyorkan supaya Kementerian Pelancogan (Kementerian) dan Agensi pelaksana melaksanakan perkara-perkara berikut:

1. Kementerian perlu memastikan satu garis panduan yang menyeluruh dikeluarkan untuk menjelaskan peranan dna tanggunjawab setiap pihak yang terlibat dalam pengurusan Program Homestay. Selain itu, Kementerian perlu sentiasa memastikan garis panduan yang disediakan berhubung pengeluaran Sijil Pendaftaran dipatuhi sebelum mengeluarkan sijil tersebut kepada peserta Program Homestay

2. Reka bentuk bangunan yang akan dibina perlu diteliti dan dipastikan sesuai oleh pihak yang berkelayakan  dan berkemahiran setiap binaan adalah sesuai untuk digunakan. Agensi pelaksana juga hendaklah menjalankan pematauan yang berterusan bagi memmastikan kontraktor melaksanakan kerja mengikut spesifikasi yang ditetakpan.

“Tourist” Minister, YB Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen, has spent RM1.67 million on her overseas trips in 2009 and another RM1.58 million between January until October 2010.  She said that she has made 16 overseas trips (26 countries and 61 cities) since she was appointed in 2009.  She asserted that her “trips” have made Malaysia the most popularly visited countries in 2009.  (more…)

Laporan Ketua Audit Negara 2009 signed by Yg Bhg Tan Sri Dato' Setia Haji Ambrin bin Buang, Ketua Audit Negara

The Auditor General Reports for 2009 was finally tabled in Parliament in the afternoon of 25-10-2010 (Monday). There are many damning reports against several Ministries including Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Information, Communication and Culture.

In the said Report there are 250 recommendations for year 2009 that have been forwarded to the various Ministries, Government Departments and GLCs for corrective actions and to avoid repetitions of weaknesses. The Auditor General Office shall monitor the situations and ensure that actions be taken by parties concerned with regards to the said Reports and it shall provide the outcomes in the Reports for 2010. Medan Idaman Sdn Bhd is the developer of Idaman Sutera Condo, Medan Idaman.  The Joint Management Body (JMB) of Medan Sutera Condo has been requesting for the rectification works to done by the developer to the sewage piping, which was not in accordance to specifications, how one unit of condo owned by the developer has 153 car parks and various other matters. The JMB has also been requesting the developer to handover the balance of the sinking fund but so far no respond. (more…)

MCMC: How is the USP being managed? Bagaimanakah USP dikendalikan?

As at 31-12-2010 2008 the USP fund was RM4.67 billion. Please read the comment by Ahiruddin Attan a.k.a Rockybru asked several pertinent questions, which are very interesting. I shall table those questions in Parliament this coming week.

Of late, the Malaysian Communication & Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has been in the news for reasons best known to itself. The blogger, Rockybru, has been investigated by MCMC for one of his postings and his “Ferrari” was also detained. YB Datuk Seri Utama Dr  Rais Yatim, Minister of Information, Communication and Culture has lodged a police report on Rockybu’s said posting. This was an unprecedented act. Since this matter is now being investigated by MCMC and the police cyber crime will have to be also involved sooner or later. So far no MACC report has been lodged.  Too complicated for me!

Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan melaporkan pada polis atas artikel Rockybru. Ini adalah perkara yang diluar jangkaan. Oleh kerana perkara ini sedang dalam siasatan oleh MCMC dan polis jenayah siber akan terlibat juga. sehingga kini, tiada laporan dari MACC yang dilaporkan. Perkara tersebut terlalu rumit bagi saya!.
