It’s reported at Rocky’s Bru here that the Executive Vice-President of Sime Darby Berhad’s Group Human Resource Mohamed Ishak Abdul Hamid will appear in the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court again tomorrow “on a charge of not complying with a notice from Companies Commission of Malaysia to produce documents on the sacking of Group Financial Officer Razidan Ghazalli and Golden Jomalina’s General Manager Muhammad Mohan Kittu Abdullah.” (more…)

On 20 November 2008, the Malay Mail reported here that …

“The controversial, soon-to-be-built Rebana Ubi Arch along the Federal Highway is part of a trade-off deal between the Malaysian government and an outdoor media company, Libroff Media Sdn Bhd, in exchange for an exclusive 15-year concession and a 5-year waiver of advertising licensing fee. As part of the deal, the government will have access to each of these sites for 3 months every year in which to advertise its programmes and promotions.” (more…)

A majority of the rakyat view the ISA as a draconian piece of legislation that has long outlived its usefulness and they want it abolished. Their last straw was when Raja Petra Kamarudin and the others were arrested by the authority in September 2008 for the flimsiest and most absurd of reasons. Since then the rakyat throughout the country have been holding weekly candle-light vigils to press for a swift repeal of the ISA and seek the release of all its detainees now numbering about 65.
